We’ve recently welcomed some new Narrators to our team to support the evolution of the business and we’d like to introduce you to our new Client Executive, Harley Young!
Tell us a little bit about your career history…
My background is in experiential brand experiences and live events. I have previously worked on a variety of events from launches and exhibitions on an international scale for global brands such as Facebook and Instagram, to being responsible for rolling out a year-long programme of UK outdoor events for Vision Express.
What has been a career highlight for you so far?
I have loved everything I have been a part of! I have especially loved working on charity projects such as events for The Macular Society, as it feels great to know the work you are doing is really making a difference to people’s lives.
What is the most important lesson you’ve learned in marketing?
Building strong relationships is key. With your team, clients, suppliers – everyone! Also, always try to look at the bigger picture and ask yourself why you are doing what you’re doing, and how it fit in with the strategy.
What do you enjoy most about marketing?
I love the creativity and team work that goes in to a project – how it starts with a few cool ideas that develop in to something tangible and amazing.
Describe your first week at Narrative in 3 words
Buzzing I’m here!
Why did you want to work at Narrative?
I got such an amazing vibe from the office and the people – I knew straight away it was for me! The passion for going above and beyond and doing the best was clear, which fits perfectly with my ethos.
What advice would you give to someone just starting their career in marketing?
Keep up to date with industry trends and be as keen to learn as much as possible. Be vocal about wanting to develop your skills, and if there is something you want to be part of – ask!
What is your favourite TV show / movie / book and why?
My favourite movie is True Romance because it is unpredictable, effortlessly cool and unapologetic. My favourite book is The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay as it tells the story of the quintessential American Dream in a beautiful, honest and moving way.
Who would you most like to swap places with for the day?
Beyoncé, undoubtedly! She is powerful and uses her influence in the most positive way of any celebrity. This post was created on 6th March 2019
