We were originally taken on by Four Housing to provide strategic and creative support for the business through PR and communications activity. This included stakeholder engagement, media relations, training for internal teams and content development and distribution.
Following a merger with Bernicia in 2016, we retained our role as the group’s chosen communications agency and worked to protect and promote the organisation through traditional PR activity and media relations.
Narrative acted as an advisor throughout the merger process. With multiple sites, no internal marketing team and a large regional customer base, we provided coordination and direction for comms as well as a crisis communications support.
We developed an overarching strategy and timeline for merger communications: our first step was to carry out extensive stakeholder research; interviewing partners, collaborators and even competitors to gauge opinions which would inform the process going forward.
Next, our team held a series of workshops with Bernicia staff – reinforcing the need for effective communications throughout the process and identifying upcoming stories which could be promoted across all of the regions in which the newly formed group operates.
Through a combination of news releases and content for Bernicia’s website and intranet pages, Bernicia is now a recognised name across the region and has achieved coverage in Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Sunderland, Teesside and County Durham.
We are committed to professionalising marketing and creating sustainable campaigns and activity for clients and in this vein, we worked extensively with the internal teams at Bernicia to grow their skills and confidence using social media to protect and promote their brand.
